TERMS OF USE
The Used Book Company LLC ("Company" or "We" or "Us" or "Our") operates this website ("Site"), usedbookcompany.com, and this consignment service ("Service"). You understand and acknowledge that we may modify these terms of use ("Agreement") at any time, without any prior notice.
1. Items will be listed within 3 weeks of receiving them. We can only accept shipments from U.S. adresses. To use our consignment services, and to receive payment, you must be a U.S. citizen currently residing in the U.S.
2. Payouts will be determined based on our rate table. Payouts are based on INDIVIDUAL sales prices and are applied to each individual item, not the total sales.4. Payments are made 30 days after the item has been delivered to the customer, unless the customer returns it. You will receive an email, which allows you to choose to receive a check in the mail or an ACH transfer. There is a $2 fee for payments. If a customer returns an order, we will relist the item(s).5. Sending us a list using the website form is required. You must agree to these terms of use to use our consignment services.
6. If we determine books will not sell, we reserve the right to contact you so that we can return the books to you. You are responsible for the return shipping.
7. We are not responsible for books that are damaged or lost in the mail when shipped to us, when a buyer returns the item, or when we return the item to a consignor.7. Books that sell for less than $14.99 will not result in a payout. Your books should sell for $15 or more to take advantage of our services.8. Unsold Items: Every item will be listed at a fixed price that we determine. We will gradully lower the price to a price that we determine until the item sells. If the item does not sell within 12 months, we will donate, recycle, or return the item. You are responsible for the return shipping. We will contact you before deciding what to do with the books.9. Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to accept or reject any book that you seek to consign based on its condition or a misrepresentation. You agree and acknowledge that the Company is not liable for rejecting any book for any reason whatsoever. We only accept books. We do not accept other items, advanced readers copies, workbooks, encyclopedia sets, incomplete sets, international editions, or any book that has the following text: review copy, sample copy, exam copy, or not for resale.10. The Company reserves the right to determine the value and condition of any included items according to its own standard and policies. The Company also reserves the right to sell, recycle or donate any item obtained through a shipment to its warehouse.11. You attest to the fact that any item you seek to consign is not counterfeit and is legally obtained. The Company reserves the right to inquire how items were acquired and request proof of ownership. While under investigation, payment may be delayed or withheld. Any items that are illegally obtained or deemed to be inauthentic will be returned to their rightful owner or turned over to the proper authorities (ie law enforcement, publishers, or retailers).
12. (Zero Strike Policy) Under no circumstances are you permitted to purchase your own listings. If you are caught doing this we will no longer accept books from you.
